Meghan Eudy Named 2024 Center-based Early Childhood Educator of the Year

May 31, 2024

Meghan Eudy was named the 2024 Center-based Early Childhood Educator of the Year by the Delaware Institute for Excellence in Early Childhood. Eudy is a child development classroom leader in Delaware Tech’s Child Development Center (CDC) at the Owens Campus, where she has worked since September 2019.

“This achievement shows the hard work of what early educators are doing each and every day and the great impact we are making in these young children's lives,”她说. “It's an honor to be recognized.”

The Early Childhood Educator of the Year Award program aims to elevate the importance of the early childhood education profession in the public eye by acknowledging and honoring the critical role of professionals in Delaware who exemplify the best in quality early care and education. Classroom educators who work with children from birth through pre-K in family- and center-based programs are eligible for this award.

Eudy began her career at the College as an assistant teacher in the Owens CDC while pursuing her degree in early childhood education at the College. She graduated in 2014 and became a part-time lead teacher, eventually accepting a full-time lead teacher position in 2018.

In her current role, she provides early childhood care and education for children in the 2-year old room, nurturing their growth and fostering their skills through play-based methods while helping families navigate the "terrific twos.” The Owens Campus CDC also serves as a lab school for enrolled students pursuing their ECE degrees, so Eudy plays an important teaching and mentoring role for these students with career aspirations in the early childhood field.

“Meghan provides quality care and education for the children enrolled while also being a mentor for new staff and lab students,” said Christiana Roberts, Owens Campus CDC man年龄r. “As a supervisor, it is especially meaningful to see her impact on future early childhood teachers the way she was once impacted in our center as a student. As a center, we are so proud of Ms. Eudy and that her contributions to our community are being recognized.”
